Pool Days

Once a week the local high school pool opens for two hours for free play. The girls are so much not for structured learning right now, but this is great for them. We played for about an hour and a half before I pulled Lily out to dry off and get her pj's on. It is from 7-9, so after playing at the park, taking Bret to dance class then swimming, she was so ready for bed. I brought her pj's to change into because I didn't know if she would make it home awake. She did, of course, but was all ready to go. The girls are excited to go back again this week. But here is the thing... It is free. And it is from 7-9pm. So the parents that want their kids to get plenty of sleep for school don't take their kids there. And since it is free, ANYONE can take their kids here. So there are a lot of kids that don't really know about pool rules very well, and don't listen well to the life guards. Hopefully that will change with time. But really that didn't affect us much. We were content to swim and play in our own little group with a few friends that DID show up.
