Thinking Day

If you know me, you know I don't buy into these kinds of activities. We produce a poster board and information on a country and its Girl Scouts, parade around with flags, listen to each girls give a small notecard of a speach about one aspect of her country, play some games that are from these same countries, eat some of their foods, listen to their music... Usually the posters have been designed mostly by the adults. The adults have done to research. The kids know very little about what they "learned" and that is why they are READING from notecards.

But at the end of the day, all these Girl Scout girls and adults, get together into their big friendship circle for a song and hand squeeze. That is the part I wait for. All the troops together making one circle. That is where I feel like we finally unite.
